Went to see it in Albuquerque today, since I live in the city. Was a nice communal experience, everyone cheered at the 7:35 PM apex. Lots of people from out of town brought their telescopes and equipment. The sky was very blue, darker than usual at the peak, and the temperature dropped noticeably...was also a bit surreal to see it get a bit brighter as the sun was setting because the moon was moving out of alignment.
This is what it looked like in Albuquerque, and virtually identical to what I saw - Pacman, peak, and in between.
