Forums - General - Don't forget Solar eclipse on Sunday May 20

For those of you lucky enough to live in Tokyo or Albuquerque, you're in the perfect spot for tomorrow's event.
You can click on this map the get exact times and how much you'll be able to witness of the solar eclipse tomorrow.

I'll be lucky if I can see the start of the eclipse. The event doesn't start until 8:20pm in Ontario for a partial (62%) eclipse.
By the time the moon is over the sun it will have sunk below the horizon.

On the west coast the event starts at 5:10pm and lasts until 7:36pm.
Japan gets it early with the rising sun on Monday. (6:15am - 8:50am)

Too bad I don't have a hot air balloon laying around.

That's when Mario Tennis is coming out!! Nintendo is so smart. ^_~

The eclipse is KT Rolster's Flash playing Starcraft II for the first time. God help anyone who's currently a professional.

You'll get one in 2017. I'll have to wait until 2024 to get a full eclipse.
Last time I had a chance to see one I drove 400 miles to get in the path of totality only for it to be completely overcast when it happened ugh.

2090 is the next one to cross over Great Britain... that's a proper total eclipse (ie the moon will be larger in the sky than the sun, wheras the one about to happen is an annular eclipse) though unless I live over 100 years and move to Cornwall I won't be seeing it.

If I wanna see one in my lifetime I'll have to go abroad at the right time.

meh,I guess it would be cool to look at,but I just don't see the point. I'll go look at the sunset are something. lol

I wonder what ability I will be given!

It sorta makes the moon feel more real then a flat disc moving accross the sky at night.
It puts the solar system into perspective, we're just specks of dust on a giant piece of clockwork.

I think it's a good way of showing the enormous size of the Sun... despite being nearly 400 times further away it rivals it in percieved size.
