I voted for Melia! She was my favourite battler just slightly ahead of Fiora. As long as I had both of them in my party I really didn't need any other character.

I love Melia. Controlling Melia gives you so many battle possibilties. 

Also, having Melia, Fiora and Shulk in the party gives some great after- battle conversations. Just like Melia- Dunban- Riki. Great times. They also complement each other very well, which is nice!
