The Minish Cap was basically putting the modern Zelda formula into a 2D game. Linear dungeons filled with puzzles, not enough dungeons and too many errands. And some idiot decided that Link has to be fat and move like a snail. My point is that 2D alone isn't the answer. It needs to be evaluated what made the first and third Zelda game great. Once the core stands, then they can add a layer of sidequests on top of it. But as it is, modern Zelda is broken because it lacks actual challenge and thus the sidequests and exploration become meaningless.

This is exactly what Skyward Sword is O.o
