Yes, Nintendo shows what they have shipped. And shipped numbers were thus for Q4:

3DS Q4 Hardware:
Japan - 1.19m
Americas - 0.52m
Others - 0.38m

Total 3DS shipments: 17.13m

3DS sales according to VGChartz: 16.93m

200k on shelves is way too little => overtracked by at least 500k

200K overall on shelves? (Globally?) Yeah, overtracked for sure. I could see it being 300K over but not that much over.

Well according to Nintendo they shipped/sold (it doesn't matter since shipped= sold anyways) 17.13 3DS ending March 31, 2012 and VGC has it at 17.4 shipped/sold for week ending 04/21/12.   That's freaking close for a 3-4 week gap in my humble opinion.  The more interesting thing for me about this chart is how long can Sony sustain the Vita with such low selling numbers before publishers start porting games to the 3DS if it hadn't already!!!

Well Vita is getting Mortal Kombat this week so that should provide a little boost. E3 is right around the corner and Sony should really bring out the big guns for Vita!

We hope. They've had two chances to announce big games (Vita Heaven, Capcom Captivate), as well as smaller events, but they have failed to do so. Also, very few games for the Vita, if any, have been leaked so far.

I'd imagine we'll only see a couple games for Vita at E3, and they'll be Gran Turismo and Resistance/ Ratchet and Clank. Maybe some smaller 3rd party games, but nothing huge.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
