Also, I wanna add this. I hope you've noticed that the site includes weekly historical data broken down by country, almost. If you wanna know how ioi got to the current numbers, short of asking for retailers addresses and phone numbers, this your best aid.
For instance, you state the PS3 sold 800k by March 31, right? If you have a look to the week ending April 1, you'll see according to VGChartz it only sold ~660k, and that those 800k were reached some 20days later. Constructive criticism would be contrasting your claim of 800k (citing your sources) with the specific data on this site.
As another example, you speak of Australia's number at the end of April being 37k, and cite a source for that. That's fine, but you should have had a look at VGChartz' number, because apparently, VGChartz' overestimated that by 2k - it's over 39k for Australia by April 29.
Assembling this data is a lot of hard work in the first place. I'm glad you want to scrutinize it, but if you want to do it in a meaningful way, you better put some time into that too.
Reality has a Nintendo bias.
