Nintendo won't announce the price of WiiU because they want to see people's reaction at E3.

And I think that has a lot to do with the power of the console. Some sites suggest that Nintendo will detail the final format and tech details of the console at E3. If Nintendo talks about the hardware it's a sign that they are confident and that it may be more powerful than what rumors say. If that's the case, it's a very good reason to keep quiet on the price point and wait the reactions. Very good reaction, price it a little higher, bad reaction, price it lower, 'meh' reaction, price it in-between.

Also remember that last year Iwata told that they might have to launch it at a loss.

That's true, actually. They may wish to gauge reaction, maybe throw out some questions, and announce a price afterwards. Don't want to make people mad

If they launch it at a loss, then might would be a mistake IMO.

A mistake? No doubt. But it may be a necessity.

You may think so, but imagine the uproar there would be to the shareholders if Nintendo sell it a loss, and thus post ANOTHER yearly loss. Shares would plummet and the haters would come back out, declaring for Nintendo to 'go game-only', and abandon the console market.

The shareholders hold too much power, which is a shame.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
