I get the feeling some of this has been badly edited for headlines. Crytek were probably deep in development for Crysis 3 and didn't want the extra hassle of a third console, not to mention the extra work needed to do something clever with the tablet. I'd be surprised if Crytek never released a game on WiiU, but they'd probably want to devote the proper resources to making the WiiU version and to make use of the hardware and tablet.
