It's hard to complain too much though because NSMB2 is probably going to play great, and it could be a nice sized jump from NSMB Wii, which was a very good step above the original NSMB.
But Nintendo really has all angles covered here. If you like "epic", more graphically wowwing Mario platformers -- well Nintendo has the Mario Galaxy series, and it's pretty much all but confirmed that they're working on a new 3D Mario for the Wii U.
If you like 2D platformers with pretty graphics, Nintendo does make the DKC series (which will no doubt return again), the Wario Land platformers, and Kirby too. Good Feel is probably working on a new Yoshi game as we speak.
NSMB is meant to be a throw-back to the basic 8-bit style of the original Mario games that a lot of people grew up with. That is the style they associate with Mario, not Yoshi's Island.
If you don't like NSMB2, you'll probably have NSMB Mii in a few months, which may not have the graphics you want but will surely look better in HD + more visual effects. And if that doesn't make you happy just wait a few more months and you'll probably have Mario Universe (or whatever) on Wii U. And Paper Mario in between.
Like, lol, life's pretty good right now if you like Mario and/or Nintendo platformers in general. If NSMB was the *only* Mario platformer that Nintendo was making, then yeah, I'd be upset. But as is ... kinda hard to get too worked up about it.
