It's because when I like something I play, I latch onto the company. For example, I know I will always get quality from Blizzard. I know that Retro Studios will almost always deliver. I am not a fan of project Sora and don't like the new direction of the smash series, I need to unlatch. I need to unlatch from 2D Mario because it's not what I expect from the biggest series on earth. I need to latch off Nintendo in general except for certain main series like 3D Mario, 3D Zelda, portable Zelda, and such. Now I'm seeing the value in a studio like Naughty Dog, I will probably latch and follow them for The Last of Us once I play Uncharted.
@Rol. I have Mario Galaxy, and got most of the stars, I just when I play a game sometimes I play hardcore and stop hardcore. I guess I'm just harder to keep on a game than I used to. I am eager to get to Galaxy 2, but just haven't gotten to it yet.
IMPORTANT for readers, this next paragraph:
@my friends on vgcharts. I'll try to clarify what I mean. When you look at certain surfaces in the pics, you notice a sheer lack of detail. This has little to do with HW capabilities since the 3DS is a very capable system. What is lacking is twofold:
1) The time and resources injected to fully polish those surfaces, and add detail.
2) The desire to make the game less cheesy, less generic, while risking the "Viral Seller" status of the game, possibly making it stagnate even less.
I don't doubt the game mechanics will blow me away, I just wanted to point out lackings in what I consider an inportant component of a game: Presentation.
If there's anything I haven't addressed, please remind me with a link to the post.
