Judging from the four screenshots we have, NSMB2 is a game so good that it will sell. The gameplay is proven and it stood, stands and will stand the test of time. Even a bad REAL Mario game would be better than the vast majority of games on the market.

Okay, I could believe that for gameplay. But what about presentation? Maybe not important for you, but it is for some of us here. What are your thoughts if you have insight for us.

The big question mark is if the things I said in the quote above will be in NSMB2 and if yes, to which degree. Since we only have four screenshots, we can't judge that yet. We can see Raccoon Mario (which is good) and we can see a golden Mario of which we don't know what it does, but it's something new.

Yes, okay, you meant it from a gameplay perspective, the various worlds, but what about the level of detail? Will it deliver. It sure doesn't look like it. But maybe I'm being too severe.

But anyway, I will tell you and the rest of the people in this thread what your problem with NSMB2 is. You want Nintendo to be a prestigious company, one that makes games with Hollywood flair to gain respect by the hardcore gamer community. There isn't much we can say based on these four screenshots, but one thing is sure: NSMB2 stands for the opposite direction you want Nintendo to go in; and you know this game will sell well. Thus crushing your hopes that Nintendo will become more like Sony and gain praise like Sony for their Uncharted series.

Yes, yes and no. You are so close.

No, I don't want Nintendo to become more like Sony... I want Nintendo to become more like their former selves (aka at the time of the NES). I want Punch Out!! revived, I want Super Mario Bros. revived, I want Super Metroid revived.

Look at what capcom did with Street Fighter IV. THAT's what I want.
