Just my opinion really on the amount of games coming out that will sell 1M+ on both platforms, I don't see Sony having enough big exclusives that are going to push them over 360's amount of million sellers.

Only because its so obvious the PS3 is going to do it, it had like 80 million sellers in the last 2 years, a lot more then the X360 and the Wii which was creaming the PS3 two years ago.

Let's try something reasonable. Make up a list of all the games that are coming out on the X360 that you think will sell a million or more and I'll come out with a list of all Ps3 games, and we will see if we or others agree with our list just to get an idea of how many more million sellers each console left to come out. Fair enough?

The reason the ps3 rapidly caught up recently is because of a couple of multiplatform ps3 games that have recently hit a million that have been million sellers on the 360 for a while now. Examples Bioshock, beatles rock band, need for speed carbon, rage, mass effect 2, dead space 2, and dead island.

Lets just look at current games. Most games over 900k currently will eventually hit 1million imo. The 360 has 22 games between 900k-1mil. The PS3 has 19.

 

Games below 900k on the 360 that will hit 1million include brink, bulletstorm, undead nightmare, lego starwars 3, marvel vs capcom 3, kinect star wars, sonic generations, and brutal legends, resident evil ORC, fifa streeet. 10 games

On the ps3 twisted metal(if bundled), wwe 12, ratchet and clank all 4 one, one piece, sonic generations, homefront, pga tour 2012, resident evil ORC, fifa street and mass effect 3. 10 games

I based those games off how well they have already sold in 2012, compared to how much more they need for 1mil. 

As for future games, its hard to predict. There will probably be a few fps, extreme sports, and party games that make it to a million on the 360 and not the PS3 and probably a few fighting and racing games that sell a million on the ps3 and not the 360. I can't see any other genre selling 1mil+ on one system and not eventually on the other. As for exclusives games, 360 will have halo 4, forza horizon, kinect sports 3, dance central 3, kinect star wars most likely hit 1mil+. PS3 will have littlebigplanetkart, last of us, god of war 4, the last guardian most likely get 1mil+. Both systems will have a few smaller exclusives that have a shot at getting 1mil+ but I don't think games like sorcery and newer kinect ips are very likely to get 1mil. And both systems could potentially get future exclusives that will likely sell 1mil+. Uncharted 4, and Fable 4 come to mind.

While it certainly is possible for the ps3 to pass the 360, it isn't something that will obviously soon happen.
