You mean like the PS3? Wanna ask those developers who extended development times substantially just how much of a hump they had to get over to program for the Cell? So answer for me, why spend all the resources on Cell development, rather than just use the Xbox 360?

That doesnt answer the question. By your logic, PS3 should have been dead on arrival because everybody would have refused to program to that level when there's an easier option on the market.

The difference between Playstation and Nintendo coming into gen7 is that the PS was the undisputed dominant leader of the industry, while Nintendo was a shameful loser (let's call it what it is), despite the huge money they made off the GBA and its golden pokemon brand.

Sony was in a position to bargain with 3rd parties, Nintendwasn't.
