The excuse that third party games don't sell on Nintendo systems is too convenient. Developers should be able to offer reasons why their game should be bought instead of why it didn't sell. It's usually the lack of the former that leads to the latter. |
C'mon Rol, we both know that a port of MDK2 on XBL or PSN would have sold at least 6,0000 units in just its first week on the service, let alone over its lifetime.
WiiWare is a mess, it's a pain in the ass to find any game other than the top downloaded ones, which are always either Nintendo games or knockoffs of PC freeware games. On top of that, the online functionality of the Wii is an afterthought, where as it is a primary focus on the 360 and PS3, and new XBL and PSN games are always promoted right on the main menus upon booting up the console.
Unless you intentionally go to the WiiWare channel, and then specifically look for the most recent releases on the service, how would anyone know what software is currently on there, especially the casual audience that dominates the Wii. Hell, the majority of Wii owners don't even have their console connected to the internet at all times!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
