IMO its.

II > III > V > I > IV    (Remakes not a factor)

Gen 3 was like 2002-2006

I was in Middle/High School then and my parents were no longer giving me money to buy games.

So with what money I could earn I focused more on my GC games than my GBA games. ;p

I agree, gen II were the best games.

Gen I had the best pokemon though, can't beat the original 151.

Really, that's your order of preference?

For me it's I = II > V > III > IV

Diamond/Pearl were the worst, but I thought Ruby/Saphire also marked a lowpoint in the franchise. Black/White to me marked a rebound in quality, but nothing will match the quality of the first 2 and the uniqueness of those two generations of Pokemon.

Why did they get lazy? and why didn't they introduce new types after Gen II?

More types would complicate things.  The current system is fine as it is.

True, but I think the addition of Steel & Dark type Pokemon was a great one.

I think the lazyness of unique Pokemon is a bigger issue. I mean Dragon type legendaries? lameness of starters, and clones (Black has a 3 tier fighter, psychic?, ghost, and rock pokemon like Red, where the 3rd tier is evolved by trade)? Pokemon are less original then they used to be, and damn, too many legendaries!

I also hate how now different versions unlock different legendaries....
