Why you would blame developers when high-end graphics could be pulled off more easily on the competitors' machine... What Factor  5 pulled off on the cube, they did it at a time when the cube was top of the line (on par with xbox). So, why would anyone want to push high-end graphics on a machine that was not intended for that is beyond me. And to blame someone for that is even more ludicrous.

As someone so cleverly said in another thread.

Ludicrous statements + place to share = forum.

Pushing for good graphics leads to higher interest from the core gamer community, because good graphics suggest that the developer actually cares. Higher interest translates to higher sales. That's one of the reasons why so many core games failed on the Wii: Because they looked like average PS2 games. Nobody but the developers and publishers are to blame for these failures.

Also, if everyone decides to go to the same well, it will eventually be dry.

This is a totally different question. Yes, for those that actually chose to actively seek the core gamer community on the Wii, yes you are right. If you're going that route, might as well do a good job on it.

I was thinking about the people complaining not enough PS360-like games were on the Wii. That's a whole other question.

Edit: And by core gamer, I mean the portion of the core gamers that actually look for high-quality graphics and graphic design. (That includes me)
