No, it makes it easier sort o.

In demon soul's you could put your soul sign, and find your friends soul sign and play it together (or a strangers), but this made the bosses a lot easier. 

There won't be anymore people invading you however. It's still an amazing game without it.

Cool. I played offline most of the time so thats no bother to me. Though I've only beaten the 1st boss so far so I might rue the lack of help when I get back to it. I have to say, nearly 3 years is a pretty good length of time to have servers online - guess it shows the games popularity even if sales were meh.
