I just realized my post are way off topic, so for the discussion at hand I would say the Wii is no where near a disappointment. I have enjoyed nearly all of its best games don't really feel like listing them but the genres Nintendo does best in I enjoyed. |
Actually, seven years passed between the launch of the NES and the SNES and nearly ten years between the Gameboy and the Gameboy Color, the Wii still has a lot to catch up with there.
In fact; the Wii is following the SNES - N64 - Gamecube recipe, around six year cycles, there is nothing exceptional about the Wii's longevity, its actually rather poor compared to quite a few other consoles and Nintendo machines (for instance, it will hardly be manufactured for twenty years like the NES).
The Wii was never going to live forever, it was a sprinter and not a long distance runner.
