I think all this talk is just hinting towards the obsurdity of your original comparison of GA vs. DD. In fact you assume people are buying a PS3 to get DD, would like to know how you figure out that's a substantial percentage of its sales. I'd say plenty of those sales are from current PS3 owners. Even if so you can't outrule GA as a system seller by comparing it to its better established counterpart. GA did sell systems, 28% of Vita owners bought the game. Vita launched 1.1 million consoles, not bad at all. GA still has the best legs on the Vita and already sold 480k as a launch title. You can't honestly expect a game that requires a $320 base cost of entry to outsell its celebrated $60 older brother when there is 37x as many consoles already out there.

When a game launches and is considered a "system seller" it doesn't sell millions of systems, it sells thousands, the millions the game sells is to current console owners. Rol, you're falling apart here.

What is considered a system seller here? I usually consider it software that bumps hardware for a noticeable time and actually hits the 1M sells, of course that's what I think.

A system seller would be any title that can be reasonably linked to people's reasoning for buying a system they do not already own. When a new game launches and a noticable or significant boost in console sales occurs it can arguably be as a result of the game launching and drawing in completly new customers to the console. Another way to identify a system seller are through surveys. Since Uncharted Golden Abyss is a launch title it is not possible to view a change in console sales and without survey results on hand, one has to resort to analyzing software to hardware ratios. While plenty of U:GA sales were a result of it being the showcase large budget title it is not unreasonable that its dedicated fan base purchased the Vita so they could purchase U:GA. An aftermath survey or a survey administered during the time of purchase could reveal to what extent the presence of U:GA had on consumers decision to buy a Vita. In order to determine potency, similiar surveys would have to be conducted among other big name titles or the increase in console sales during launch can be divided by the launch SW sales.

Admist the absence of more accurate data, potency can be gauged through industry acceptance and sales penetration. The next known "biggest" system seller for Vita would be Resistance: Burning Skies. When that title launches you can witness the strength of its system selling by viewing the increase in Vita sales for the region it launched in. If Vita sales are on a either a downward or upward trend: did the Vita continue that trend from the previous weeks? An unexpected increase in sales or decrease in the reduction of sales indicates the effective level to which the SW released had on system sales. I would asume that, based on sales, the Uncharted series has more fans than the Resistance series. So whatever effect R:BS has, U:GA can understandly be seen as having a greater effect of whatever that is.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
