You weren't, like somebody pointed out, the front of the bus is designated for disabled seats and for the elderly. If you were sitting at the back then you should have been the last person on that bus to offer her your seat.
You should have eventually offered her your seat, but I understand the awkwardness. 
The fact that you acknowledged your slight wrong doing and that you were thinking about what you were doing is what matters.
