Don't get so worked up over that news report with the anecdotal source! Looking at the fiscal report, Nintendo are shipping around 250k Wii games every single day (and twice as much last quarter, during the holidays). They will be able to handle this much better than their hardware shortages.
Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.
