Damn, this is confusing. Is the following correct?

Sony's hardware revenue > Nintendo's hardware revenue
Sony's hardware+software revenue < Nintendo's hardware+software revenue

Nintendo's profit > 9000
Sony's profit <0

It's only logical that all the companies are reporting the numbers that make them sound the best. Kinda like holiday season 06, when MS said they had won due to selling the most next gen consoles (360), Sony said they had won due to selling the most home consoles (PS2+PS3), and Nintendo said they had won due to selling the most gaming devices (GBA+NGC+Wii+DS).

Yes, but remember that companies like Sony and Microsoft who delve in and dabble in many markets and have many divisions will have a massive net turnover even though their games division might not be sweeping the tables nowadays compared to Ninty. Sony is still earning a whole lot on PS2 software sales, and their other divisions are doing better than in the last 4-5 years, so they're not going anywhere soon regardless of PS3 losses on books. Same with MS, they're forking in on the software applications.

It is worth nothing though, that both Sony and MS have a very small profit (2006, last full accounted year) compared to net turnover. Their profits for 06 were neck and neck (approx 1.25 billion $ or some such). Sony's revenue is greater total though, since they have so many divisions.
