I made my own versions to show how much 3D mario is in line with the main Mario trend. Here they are.
Japan:

As everyone can tell, the Green trend (SMB, SMB3, SMW, SM64, SMS, G, G2, SM3DL) and the purple trend (SM64, SMS, G, G2, 3DL) are a fit.
However, 3DLand will probably not fit for very long given potential legs (yet to come, unless 2D Mario steals its thunder).
