Can't believe the Wii is beating the N64 in votes :(

I still bust out my N64 from time to time to play it more than 15 years after I got it, while my Wii is now a permanent dust collector. Wii might have been important in catapulting Nintendo back to 1st, but the N64's library shits all over the Wii's library.

I don't get why Wii gets this reputation as a "dust collector." Seriously, there are litterally dozens of games worth checking out on Wii.. And that's just out of the 100 or so Wii games I've played. just gotta seek out the good ones..

For me at least, N64 had a few really great games and not much else, while Wii's lineup has a ton of "good" games, while somewhat lacking in the AAA games.

Because the games that longtime gamers like myself and many others actually want to play and look forward to playing on the Wii have been very few and far between, even moreso than the N64/GC combined.  I averaged almost 5 game purchases a year for the N64 and GC throughout their lifespans... for the Wii it's been less than 2 (not including downloadable ones, which for me consisted mainly of rare Turbo CD games like Ys I & II and Castlevania Rondo of Blood that would have costed me a small fortune to play in their original physical form otherwise.)  And once I got a 360, my Wii has sometimes gone months without being used at all.

I know there's plenty of good underrated or not well known titles on the Wii, but I really don't care to play any of those.  The one non-Nintendo game that I took a chance on for the Wii was Zack and Wiki way back in '07 because IGN hyped the game non-stop, and I enjoyed it for the first couple of worlds or whatever and then got really bored of it.  Not interested in games like Xenoblade and Last Story either, which are geared only towards stubborn fanboys who refuse to buy another console to play the latest and greatest games, and are reduced to begging Nintendo to port these niche titles over just so that they have SOMETHING to play.  If you have to literally beg a game company to put out more games because there's nothing else to play for months on the horizon (except Mario Party 9, oh joy), then it's time to get a new console.

I'm a long time gamer (gaming since the 80s) and I've had all the Nintendo consoles except for the VB and Pong one and the Wii easily has more to play then all of them except for the SNES and NES, just because you don't care for the games it doesn't make the console worse, I easily have much more games then what my GC and N64 had to offer that were worth while. I think a number of people like yourself are either drunk on nostalgia or have selective memories as the GC and N64 had droughts that only the Saturn could beat.

This is complete crap, droughts??? GC at least had plenty of game releases, it was getting most of the games the competition was getting without the shovelware. Im with NightDragon to a certain extent. I wont go so far as to say my Wii collects dust, but it doesnt get anyhwhere near the play time as my PS2, hell the only game I play on it is GE and that came out in 2010 and their is a better version on the HDs.  "Their are games you just have to find them" where?? Tell me some of these games im missing, because I only bought two last year; Grand Slam Tennis and Zelda SS.  I used and played and bought way more games for GC, so what drought are you talking about?? I buy an average one game per month for PS3, thats 12 a year not even counting DL titles.  If the man doesnt care about the games then it does make the console worse for HIM. Its that simple

@metallicube  what I find funny about some of the Wii owner arguments, is in one instance they will cry about having too much shovelware and that the 3rd party games suck. But then in another they will say the WIi has a good library, it cant be both. 3rd party games make up 95% of any given consoles library, so if that 95% of games suck then the library cant be good, unless you actually like those WiiFit/Sports/mingame knockoffs which makes up the majority of the library, which is cool looking at sales a lot of people like them, but understatnd alot of people dont, which is why I look at the Wii and say; "yeah there aint shit to play" OR you thinki the Ninty games are so awesome that them make up for the really poor 3rd party offerings, and that is cool too. IMHO they dont, not eve closee, I dont believe that the WIi has the best first party library, SNES or NES hold that crown. For every Mario Galaxy I get a WiiSports/FIt/Music game I dont care about at all
