Well FF relies much on the west. And to keep reaching core gamers in the west they need to keep it on home consoles.

DQ and MH aren't very popular in the west. So they keep it on hand helds which is what Japan seems to prefer.

RE:Revelations doesn't agree though.

Regardless of the quality, it has little chance of achieving RE4 or RE5 sales.
