I think that you brought up an interesting point about how important the supporting characters were in this movie and Dr. No.  Both Kerim Bay and Quarrel were a great help to Bond and weren't female or named Felix Leiter.  I have noticed that many of the better Bond movies have this in common.

Its funny I was reading your post and said to myself, "Who the Hell is Red Grant?" Then I remembered Nash was Grant. Strange how I remember the name he had for 5 minutes of the film, but not is main name.

His name is actually Donovan "Red" Grant.  :p

When I first watched the movie I was surprised to even see that actor playing the part. I will always remember him from Jaws though.

Another strange actor is Donald Pleasence (sorry mind dump today) The President in Escape from New York. He always acted so strangely in his movies. I need to see him in one of his earlier works. Just strange roles that that guy took.

Me too.  Robert Shaw was actually my favorite actor in Jaws.

Donald Pleasance has always been quirky actor that took oddball roles.  The movies he's in aren't always good, but he normally is.  Kind of like Christopher Walken.  I always think of him as Dr. Loomis in the Halloween series.
