Hmm, to me it simply seems like gay people are more comfortable being honest about in here compared to other forums and this is a truly great thing. And some of these avatars are really good looking! 
Most of my gay friends have to stay in the closet on the internet since they'll get barrages of gay-bashing and verbal abuse otherwise, I sometimes think that we might not have come so far since the Stone Age after all...
