No one can dismiss Nintendos domination in the hand held market, however Sonys PSP has done a good job in taking market share away from Nintendo in an area where sony hadnt ventured before.

Also Nintendo has seen a huge demand for the DS, and over the Christmas period was sold out in many regions.

Could it be to Nintendo's advantage to release the DS Advanced this year at a higher price point while still promoting the DS? (Similar to the fan boy pictures we have seen on the Internet, higher spec processor etc, MP3 player built in, completely backwards compatible with the DS games and with GBA support)

So basically im asking

  • When would be the best time for Nintendo to release this new console??
  • What should Nintendo do increase and continue their domination in the hand held market?
  • What should be the new features of this Handheld?

And my thoughts. Well it would be cool to see the discs rolling in replacing the cartriges so in games like Pokemon you can have more than one file. (and of course, better graphics) Maybe they should add the inclusion of the Memory Stick so that the DS2 can play music and movies. and can also have more saved files. This would be kinda like the PSP which would help its domination The best time for Nintendo to release the new console would be when the DS is nearing or approaching the sales of the PS2. (Any predictions on when?)  It would be dumb for Nintendo to release one right now because the Lite is still selling pretty well. (Althoough it would be cool for us) Another good time would be when Sony release the next PSP. (most likely to be called PSP2) so that Nintendo has something new as well and not allowing sony to get a head start.
