lol, they are already making milions probably bilions with Xbox... MS aint Sony, MS know what they are doing right now. Sony on the other hand doesnt know what they are doing and they keep bleeding in money, in fact Xbox division alone for MS is probably giving them more money than the entire Sony company is making, yearly.

Maybe you should work for them because to me it sounds like you know how to run a multi million pound division than the people at sony because their superior IQ to yours is surely getting in the way /s
You cant walk into a job like that and you certainly wouldnt make the cut. Sat behind a laptop everybody can be an expert where sony is going wroung.
Sony is virtually level with xbox with a higher price tag most of its life, released a year later (18months in europe) and ms throwing ms billions on a product. why are people surprised? For premier league fans its similar to man city, chelsea throwing millions on their teams to win trophies. You cant stop anything with money behind it.
BTW im guessing you have a lower iq than the brains behind sony. But im probably right

None of that has anything to do with his post about MS making money and Sony not. Sony have kept a division going for 7 years that has made them nothing but losses, I wouldn't exactly say the person who makes the decision to keep that division going is the brightest spark.
You don't need to be a mastermind to know when and where a company is going wrong (and they all make mistakes, stop making out like they're run by geniuses)

But the main people who control the direction of the the ps are pretty smart guys. Something that might look wroung to us will have a reason why they did it. It just makes me laugh when people start shouting that sony are stupid, why didnt they do this, why didnt they do that when they think they know better.
You are right though seece, sony have lost money but mainly due to stuff out of their control like the stroung yen and yes sony do make mistakes but there was probably a reason why they did it. Maybe they knew it was risk and it might not pay off and if it doesnt pay off then its easy to jump on them and point out their mistakes afterwards.

Sony wiped out PS1 and PS2 profits just with the development of release year of PS3, this happened looooong before the yen and tsunami situations. so... no. PS3 as been an unmitigated disaster financially. And yes... they have managed it very badly. Gamble? perhaps... but it back fired spectacularly and someone is to blame... someone high up in Sony. It is nobodys fault but their own.

Again we dont know why they did what they did. I can only guess they had to rush a console to market after the release of the 360. This could be why they released an expensive to make console with less time to develop a less expensive console. They probably then went straight to work to develop a cheaper to make console (the slim) to reduce they loss they make on each console. Market share is probably more important to them that losing money because the buisness model is to make money on the game sales. Over the last few years where they should be recouperating the money back with interest we had, which nobody could predict, a world recession. This leads us to the state of the yen right now.
I dont know what the thinking is of sony and this is only what i think.
But you're just another person pointing out "dey are losin' moneyz" without any thought behind it.

No, actually... I'm not. I have probably thought about and talked about the financial aspect of the industry more than anyone here so dont insult me with such a juvenile come back.
A logical conclusion to your view of their business model is for Sony to become a software company... Movies, music and games. Wont happen though. CEO's tend to be empire builders who like to leave a legacy or a product as a trophy to their time in office.... its vanity and its what has cost Sony more than anything in the last 5 years.

It was supposed to be in a juvenile context but it wasn't a juvenile comment.
You're comments showed lack of insight for somebody who talks about this sort of stuff the most, more than anybody. Gloss it over with this legacy stuff if you want. I suppose youre entitled to your views.
