yeah that seems right many times but at least they are happier than non religious people (i believe we had a thread about that on vgc). some people believe in freaking things and it makes absolutely no sense but they believe in it and that makes them happy or helps them in some bad moments in life.
that's why i will never say something against "normal" believing people as long as they don't try to get others on their nerves with that or to get their money or whatever. for example when there is an earthquake many start to pray and sure the people they pray for don't die less under the ruins than people nobody prays for but people who pray can live better with the situation in this moment. their believeing helps them to handle the situation so there's really nothing to say against that.
they like to be the "sheep" every sunday and they don't have less fun than you have playing final fantasy at the same moment. or let's say they wouldn't have more fun on sunday don't playing the "sheep"
