I blame 3rd parties. Nintendo can not singlehandedly support a console. Mario Sports Mix, Wii Play Motion, Kirby, Zelda, and Fortune Street is not the best lineup ever, but considering how Nintendo is just one developer also making DS, 3DS, and Wii U games, I can't blame them for less games this year. Sure, they should have localized the Rainfall trio, but look at other developers!
Sega couldn't be arsed to bring over Sonic Generations to Sonic's de facto home console, despite an easily portable 3DS version. Nobody except Activision is trying to port games to the Wii anymore. Ubisoft's latest Rabbids game, a series that has flourished on the Wii, was a Kinect exclusive.
It's as if 3rd parties are trying to kill the Wii.
