You stated this after explaining that the Vita would resist the storm fine, this implies that you feel the 3DS wouldn't be crushing the Vita the way that it is. The bottom line is that the 3DS has scooped up a lot of Sony's audience and added it to its own. We all agree that the 3DS had a terrible launch, but it managed to do 3 times better in the second week when compared to the Vita, and that is while Vita had a holiday season boost. They were both new systems which launched at identical prices.
The conclusion is that Vita could not resist the 3DS storm (which included hits like Monster Hunter 3G, Mario Kart 7, and Super Mario Land 3D). To put it bluntly: your prediction was that the Vita would easily resist the 3DS storm; since the Vita did not resist the storm, you were wrong to say that it would resist the storm.
