while electronics and other luxeries probably cost more, I can assure you the cost of living is a lot less. I lived in a country with a similar average wage as argintina, and my father earning 20k a year there could afford nearly as much as he can now earning 110k a year in northern New Jersey, United States. Only difference is we can afford a lot more electronics. We live in a very similar sized house in a similarly pleasent neighborhood. Go out a similar amount of times, similar cloths, similar utilities, etc. as we did when my dad was earning a fifth of what he is now, but not in America.
