No, seems highly unlikely. I would guess a launch price of around 400$ myself.
The peripherals, however, will be insanely expensive, I shudder at the thought of the prices of controllers...
Then again, according to most Wii fans, price doesn't matter so the Wii U should kill everything, even at 600$ launch price.
