You should see how i play, 
no bragging or anything, but i always manage to kill a mech without being on a truck or another mech, its easier to out move a mech by throwing grenades at it and it being slow to turn around. last time i played i along with one guy went into a base with a razorback, and then i made him take the flag and jumped off the car to stall the other team, and i managed to kill 3 mechs single handely with just my rifle and grenades.
