After enjoying the last Zelda I can say that going back to buttons-only will feel like a step back, at least to me.

i say they should use these
1 - a tablet option where its typical controls and touch screen for item managments
2 - Wii-Mote and Nunchuck like the Wii
3 - a Hybrid option where you use both of them, for Item Managment AND Motion controls, no one said you have to hold the Tablet all the time right ?

That would be the best way to play it. Having the WiiU controller resting in your legs (for example) showing the inventory or the map while playing with the wiimote+.

Sorry but that sounds clunky as hell
You slash an enemy, your arm moves ---> Body moves ---> Pad drops ----> FUUUUUU~

We clearly have different play styles
But you could put the WiiU controller at your side, or in a small table in front of you (that is, if you can put the controller vertically).
Please excuse my bad English.
