I'll say what everyone is dancing around. Final Fantasy 7 remake on the 3DS will look like ass. Graphics have gotten a lot better and to be frank would you want Final Fantasy 7 remake looking like Final Fantasy X/XII or would you rather it look like Final Fantasy XIII? If you're going to take the time to remake your highest selling game you damn well better put all your resources and do a good job and putting the game on the 3DS wouldn't do that.

First, I would like to clarify that I really don't think it's FF7 (if the rumor is even true at all).

That said, there is a reason why a FF7 remake (port?) would end up on the 3DS instead of an HD console. It would be the same logic that lead Capcom to put MHTri on the Wii instead of the PS3 - development time and money. SE went on record quite a few times that a FF7 remake would take forever (in development time). So where wouldn't it take forever? Perhaps on the 3DS.

But, as I wrote initially, I don't think it's FF7.

It probably isn't and that doesn't change the fact that a remake of Square's highest selling game deserves the highest possible treatment.  It's not like we're discussing the remake of a second tier game, or a remake of a 2D based game.  We're discussing a remake of Square's flagship game, it was a game changer to say the least.

I understand what you are saying, but by roughly the same logic, with MH being Capcom's flagship franchise in Japan, MHTri shouldn't have come to  the Wii and MH3G and MH4 shouldn't be coming to the 3DS... Yet they are, so if they could, so could FF7.

When Monster Hunter Tri switched over, Monster Hunter wasn't the beast it was, and the PS3 wasn't doing so hot either.  The PS3 and 360 are both doing well now, if they were doing how they are there's a good chance Monster Hunter Tri would still have been on the PS3.  As far as Monster Hunter 4 goes, I'm sure NIntendo had something to do with that cause, to risk sales, is a bad move by Capcom.
