What I find funny is that some of you are trying to find fault in my arguments by suggesting that touch controls aren't necessary. So in essence you're saying, "That won't be an issue because the tablet and its touch controls, the thing that will be the MAIN draw to gamers and casuals who aren't exactly Nintendo fans, isn't needed. Especially in Nintendo's main franchises." So, what's the point to owning it then if its main feature isn't necessary? Plus, I don't know what crazy things you think they will be doing with the tablet, but the things I described are very plausible applications of the tech. I hope if they happen to do similar things with it, you guys aren't disappointed. |
I got to say I agree with the others you aren't suggesting anything that would actually pose as a problem in SSB or MK. Nintendo doesn't need to add things to MK or SSBs controls just because it now has a tablet. Brawl and MK WII show that the number of buttons you need to play isn't much at all anyway. Nobody at my house was complaing that they didn't have the nunchuck attachment when playing either game because you don't need it.
The WiiU controller will be used better in the single player experience or in that tech demo when one person controls the map with the tablet while the other players are in the world with wii motes. Look at the tech demos from E3 again if you want to know what the tablet can be used for.
