In my opinion there is a massive difference in the kinds of games that people play with 1 or 2 player games locally and the games that people play with 3 or 4 (or more) players locally. While there are (probably) a few exceptions to this rule, games that are only played with 1 or 2 players locally are often more complicated/less accessible than games that are played with 3 or 4 (or more) players locally. There may be some games which are well suited to 4 tablet controllers, I suspect that those are in the vast minority.
