Mario Kart
I separate Mario Kart from Mario in general because it's just different. Smash Bros is it's own franchise right? I don't relate Mario platforming to Mario racing, and I never play as Mario in Mario Kart.
Mario Kart is one of 2 reasons I got my Wii. I put over 1,000 hours into Mario Kart 64, and probably about 50 into Mario Kart Wii. It's the best franchise to play with friends, especially girls who are typically bad at games. It's an amazing gateway drug... I mean game.
After that I would have to say Mario Party (same reasons as above, but only 200 hours into Mario Party 2), Pikmin, Metroid Prime, and Fire Emblem. I would considering buying a Nintendo console just for any well made versions of one of those games, and lal of them have their bad games. Mario Party has gotten bad after N64, Mario Kart for Gamecube was no fun, and I'm not huge for it on handhelds, Metroid: Other M, Fire Emblem Remake for DS was nowhere nearly as good as the GBA iterations, same with the GCN version, and well Pikmin hasn't seen a bad game yet, but it's a relatively new IP, give it time, Nintendo always f**ks up every IP because they always try something new, and often that goes bad.
