The point of exclusives is that you have to buy one specific machine to play them legally. An exclusive game is a selling point for a system, so if someone asks why they should buy a 360, then you better list actual exclusives. Just because you can't afford or don't want to buy a gaming PC doesn't mean that others can't, don't want to or don't have one already.

Rules are set by objective standards, not your personal perception.

But a PC isn't a video game console, and with the right program you can play ALL PS3/360/Wii games legally.

So then is nothing exclusive? According to your logic, that's true right?

What about when Windows 8 comes out? It's suppose to play all 360 games off 360 disks, and support XBL. Will 360 then have no exclusives? The only difference now to windows 8 is that if you play a PS3 or 360 game on PC, you don't get online play because your not playing on a Sony PS3 or MS 360 console.

The only way it is legal to play console games on a PC is by owning actual copies of said games, but at that point you would own the respective console too (after all, it is cheaper to buy the console instead of a PC in order to play these games), so your point is majorly flawed.

If 360 discs can be officially read by PCs, then yes, these games cease to be exclusive, because people don't have to buy an Xbox 360 anymore in order to play these games. 360 games that were later on ported to the PS3 also ceased to be exclusives, so why should we make an exception for 360/PC multiplatform games?

Why does a PC owner have to own a PS3/360 to play PS3/360 disks on the PC? I owned Wii games long before I owned a Wii (borrowed a Wii off a friend time to time).

A PC isn't a conventional gaming device. It's not a video game console. Everything is playable on PC, so being exclusive is almost meaningless if we count anything also being playable on PC as no longer exclusive. Just because some 360 exclusives see a PC version directly, doesn't mean that the 360 version is any less of a console exclusive.

I just don't see a difference between console exclusive and your exclusive.

I mean your logic, based off your own statement is flawed. If PC gamers have to own a PS3 or 360 to play those games anyway, why don't they just pick up an arcade 360 for dirt cheap? You yourself said that "It is cheaper to buy the console instead of a PC in order to play these games" so "at that point you would own the respective console too."

I see no difference between playing a PC version of a 360 exclusive or a 360 version of a 360 exclusive on your PC, and I furthur extend that into Wii and PS3's domain. Buying a console ensures quality, and garentees online service, that's the only entitlement you receve playing on consoles if we start considering PC as a gaming device.
