No honestly how can people think AC will outsell BF3...

First, BF3 is a shooter, that is to say the most popular genre nowdays. But it's not some random shooter : anybody having played the beta will notice it's a revolution in both graphics and gameplay. Frosbite2 flattens nearly all 3D engines so far and the game is really immersive. In the other hand, AC is a ageing franchise seriously going purely commercial.

That said, have a look on the preorders : BF3 has twice more on both systems AND we don't yet know about the PC version, which will be far above the current PC sales average cause it's an immensely superior version.

Seriously drop your AC and come to play BF3...

This isn't about which game you prefer. I personally hate AC and still think it will sell better.

FPS games may be the most popular games nowadays but that doesn't mean automatic success and good graphics have little coorolation with good sales. Killzone 3 and Crysis 2 both sold rather poorly.

I am only comparing sales on consoles as I stated in the OP so comments about the pc version are meaningless.

Battlefield 3 could certainly outsell it but it faces much stiffer competition then assassins creed to win over customers. Assassins creed disadvantage is it has been very heavily milked lately with a new game coming out every year.  But if a new one doesn't come out next year, I think revelations will have much better legs than battlefield 3.
