PS2 Launch time : March in Japan, October in NA (6months later) and November in EMEAA (7 months later), so it took 15 months to reach 10m ok, but 3ds launched in Februrary in Japan, and March in the rest of the world, so let's compare what's comparable.
3.2m, that's what the PS2 sold between Japan's launch and NA's launch, it reached 10m in June, 6.8m were sold in 8 months (from October till June), 3.2m in 7 months (March till October).
