Is it good for anything? I'm not after ultra high performance. After all I am primarily a console gamer so I can live with console graphics quality. I just want to be able to play games that aren't available on PS3. My current PC only has a 64MB graphics card, so you know how limited my choice in PC games has been. My kids wanna play TF2 I assume it'll be able to handle that. I've got a few games with 256MB graphics card minimum / recommended specs that Squilliam threw my way like Penumbra and SC: Double Agent.
Thanks for the feedback. I thought it might be more complex than just the raw 1GB number.
FYI the 6670 Xen mentioned upthread is between $130 and $160 NZD. So that's about $105-$120 USD.
Odd thing is that there are different brand names: MSI, Sapphire, Asus, Gigabyte, HIS. Why this stuff has to be so confusing?

You'll run Source games just fine. Also, the brand doesn't matter, they should all be practically the same.

They should, but sometimes aren't. You can notice different cooling and even different specs among them - the most prominent example I remember (laugh and die) is when I was buying a Radeon 4650 AGP for an old PC so it can do HD video and output HDMI, there were two prominent ones - a Gigabyte one, clocked by AMD specs and very well cooled, and a HIS one, with a terrible fan but with its memory being 1300mhz (or so) instead of the standard 800mhz.
Having seen most of the other ones while shopping for my friend, I can safely vouch for the Asus one.

AFAIK those are more like exceptions. Wait, there's an AGP version of the HD 4650? Anyway, I suppose in your example those cards were both being marketed as regular non-overclocked versions?
