I think his prediction makes sense. PS3 $299, Xbox $249, and Wii $199 are very likely to happen in one year.
The next battle for Sony is BD vs DVD. Sony will continuously subsidize PS3 and market it as a BD player. In one year, there will be many BD players on the market below $199 made by other manufacturers. Sony's PS3 will still be the most powerful BD player and people will buy it at the price of $299. Sony can save a ton of money for no need to develop/market/supply mid-end BD players in 5-10 years.
Besides, the cost of some PS3 components is coming down rapidly, but on the other hand, Wii components is not as fast.
