Down the road i think they will, alot of people simply dont care for 3D and if it can make the system cheaper and why not. Its not exactly going to split the usebase because its not as if makes a difference to the games. When the time is right and the 3DS has found its stride im sure they would release a $99-$129 model with no 3D, it would probably sell a truck load
