This, MM was just a weird ass entry, period. It was radically different than OOt but at the same time, not really. I dont know why people were expecting it to do better than OOT |
On a side note, I haven't gotten to a single dungeon in that game, as I still don't know what to do. It's not just the field is large and complex. I'm wondering who to talk to or what event to trigger, and I've tried a number of things.* The fact that I may have to turn to gamefaqs just to enter a dungeon just ticks me off about it.
Back on topic, just focus on the damn swordfighting. That is what we've been wanting with the Wiimote since the beginning. There shouldn't be any scripted puzzles with a boomerang just to open a door. Make us feel like the hero of an old swashbuckler, and we will flock to that. That is what the first games in the series did (it doesn't matter what the detractors say, you feel like a champion finally beating Zelda II).
* It might be ridiculously easy, but considering what it took just to get the song of time, which is basically before I can start properly playing, I'm not expecting anything to be simple in that game.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
