it doesnt hurt because the second hands market is for all products. it makes no sense to say that they sell less because if they say it every industry has to say it as well and if we all would only buy new products we could buy much less for our self which includes games.
what do they think where the money goes? they complain about gamestop shops because they sell used copies as well but without that there wouldn't be a gamestop on every corner and without these shops not so many people would buy consoles and games.
do they really think they would sell more games without gamestops selling usd copies and whatever? do they know how many people only buy a console because they have a market where they can buy and sell games? i bet without the used copies market there would be a lot less consoles and these people who bought a console becuase they know they cann buy and sell used copies as well buy new games as well sometimes.
i have a ps3 and a 360 and for both new and used copies. if there wouldn't be a used copies market i wouldn't own a ps3 and i think i bought 7 games new for my ps3 including heavy rain. without a used copies market i wouldn't have bought a new heavy rain.
wihout a used games market i bet the gaming industry would be smaller than it is
