That would be a terrible business decision, why remove the biggest feature from your product?
This is like the 9999th time of a 3D-less 3DS thread.

The 3DS's biggest feature is a liability instead of an asset, that's why.

But surely at this point it would be a worse decision to get rid of the feature. Releasing a new model with two sticks or without 3D and dividing the install base would be a disaster IMO, it would just make customers lose confidence in the product. I don't know if the 3D approach was the correct one, possibly not (though I don't think it's its biggest liability either). Either way I believe they should just stick to it. They need to launch appealing games and advertise well before holidays.

I agree with Troll_Whisperer. The 3DS's biggest liability (and a huge dick move by Nintendo) was leaving the entire launch window to 3rd parties. When the games never came, people lost interest in the platform, but now that the price has dropped, and games are arriving that interest is coming back. Why Nintendo piss off consumers now? They're just hitting their stride.

Why should Nintendo drop 3D from the 3DS when it is here to stay? There are also a lot of untapped benefits that they haven't touched yet (3D Movies on cartridge, 3D Netflix, etc.). Why let all of that go to waste? Sure it will drop the price, and improve the battery life but still.....

Also Nintendo named it Mario Kart 7 because their stance on putting 3D in names is to put it at the end of remakes.
