I think the Atheist are just so tired of 'God' and 'Religions' being shoved at them all the time. Religious wackos put it in the pledge and on money - places religious references clearly do not belong. And are now trying to re-write history and say that George Washington prayed before crossing the Delaware and that Thomas Jefferson was a Christian. Even the author wrongly claimed that both Christmas and Easter have their roots in Christianity!
Some of us, myself included, get so tired of Christians that bully everyone, then cry foul when they don't get their way. Most Christians don't even know that Sunday is not their holy day as defined by scripture. ( it's Saturday. )
Why not put the cross in the Christian Church that is right next to ground zero. Wouldn't it make more sense to have it in a Church and not a governmental building.
That seems like it would make everyone happy.
